What I Made Today

>> Thursday, June 23, 2011

or rather, what I made Yesterday. I've decided to do another month challenge where I actually photograph and make things every day. I'm hoping to boost my etsy shop contents, and finish some quilts.

Danielle wanted to help me make a "quilt" which to her is a soft fuzzy blanket so we made one together. People have been asking me to make soft minky blankets for adults to I decided I should make some and list them in the shop. Danielle picked all the fabrics- so I guess it is for someone who is young at heart.
I love my little girl. Check out her design HERE

Month Challenge- 31 days of making things, every day. Consistency Counts. Like the year challenge, only way way way shorter.

Who needs the Holidays? I love shopping Year Round

>> Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Lately Etsy is loaded with holiday shopping guides. But I like shopping year round- it's less stressful. There is something cathartic about finding the perfect item. and I LOVE bright colors.
also after one of the items in my treasury expired yesterday and I don't have it in the treasury anymore i've decided to go back to screenshots instead of something from treasury junior. Maybe I should combine them. In the meantime visit my treasury HERE

this is treasury 30 of 31 from a month challenge. I like to challenge myself to do something new every month. This challenge is inspired by A Treasured Year- where Factorygirlashli makes a new treasury every day for a year.

Gift Guide for Crafty Mommas 29 of 31

>> Tuesday, November 16, 2010

today Etsy tweeted a link to their blog about code. they announced the winners of the handmade code contest and all the entries- one of them was Treasury Junior- and I love it! It takes your treasury and makes code so you can put it in a blog format.

This is day 28 of making treasuries which makes me so happy- three more days and I've made treasuries every day for a month. This challenge was inspired by the blog A Treasured Year by Factorygirlashli.

Yesterday I found so many great items I made two extra treasuries.

maybe next they will make a site that lets you make a fake front page screen shot.

Inspired by the 80's 28 of 31

>> Monday, November 15, 2010

I happened to be on twitter and etsy said they wanted to see treasuries about the 80's. then they linked to a video with some great break dancing.
So I decided to make a treasury about the 80s. I was born in the 80s so I have a special love for them. and slap bracelets.

I can't believe I've made a treasury for 28 days in a row! Factorygirlashli has made 175! I'm glad I based this challenge on her blog A Treasured Year this month- because it is super fun.

Welcome Sunshine 22 of 31

>> Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Today I thought about a lot of things. I am really grateful for antibiotics because I'm already feeling a little better from having a sinus infection. It is like a little sunshine. Visit the treasury HERE

Every day this month I've felt like I should link to Factorygirlashli's site. I try to do month challenges and this one is really her original idea so I think I should give her credit. Today I looked at it for the link and loved her treasury.
Ashli made a treasury today about an organization my sister in law mentioned- To Write Love On Her Arms. At first when I heard about it I thought of the people I knew who self harmed and cut themselves. I had a hard time with the title. But I read a blog post Ashli linked to from Getreadysetgo and I think it's a good organization. I've suffered from depression for a lot of my adult life and sometimes I just wonder if it will ever be just a little easier. I love the idea of a group that works together to help people. My friend Claire says sometimes it's just nice to know that someone is there to talk to. It's nice to just have someone- like a little sunshine and hope to keep you going.

It all started with my suggested shops. What a pretty dress- and one of the things had wings which made me think- maybe I could make a treasury with wings.

What a great Day- November is coming. I went trick or treating with my kids which was fantastic! The neighbors had a fire pit on their porch which was a great idea- and it even snowed a tiny bit. Luckily it didn't stick.

About This Blog

I am a stay at home mom with a little bit of a fabric habit. I like selling things on etsy to see if other people like the same things I make. I have two adorable kiddos and my husband is in medical school. So when the children go to bed and husband is still away studying, I use my lovely pfaff and bring myself to cut up the fabric I adore so much.
This blog helps motivate me to get things done.
